Selara is a prayer journal app developed by Kai Digital Studio. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.
We use your information solely to provide the Selara app experience — storing your journal entries, enabling prayer circles with people you invite, and sending prayer reminders you request. We do not sell, share, or use your data for advertising.
Personal prayer journal: Your private prayer content — including prayer text, journal reflections, answered prayer notes, and the names of people you pray for — is encrypted on your device before it is stored. We use AES-256 encryption with a key derived from your password. This means that even Kai Digital Studio cannot read your personal prayer content. Your encryption key is never transmitted to our servers in a form we can access. Please note: if you lose access to your account and cannot remember your password, your encrypted content may be unrecoverable.
Prayer circles: Content shared in Prayer Circles is also encrypted at rest using AES-256 before being stored. Circle prayers are readable by all members of the circle — that is the intended design. Because circle content uses a shared app-level key rather than a key derived from your personal password, it does not carry the same "zero knowledge" guarantee as your private journal.

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You may delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app.
Selara is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
